What to Pack in My Labor Bag for the Hospital?

Okay now, the baby shower has passed, the baby gifts have arrives, the baby room (nursery) is painted and well decorated. The baby has started kicking like never before, you know its a boy or girl? You have signed your 4 months leave, the due date is like a week away. And the anxiety of expectations is running in your mind like mad, you have already started dreaming about the hospital labor and the baby.

But, have you packed for the hospital bag? I thought so! Most new mothers and first time baby mother have already done so. Many pack the labor bags after the baby shower gifts have arrived. Maybe its because you now have everything you want and what ever you have bought for the baby will be enough.

We suggest you start packing your baby hospital bag a month before, as you know or the doctor tolled you that it can be before the date or later. I think packing the hospital bag will be an opening experience for you and your husband (if you pack it together). You now realise that in 2 weeks weeks time when you come back home, things will be different and there is no turning back.

What to pack for the Hospital...the mother

  • Pairs of socks

  • Not so useful night dress or T-shirt for the labour
