Planning a baby shower can be stressful and the feeling of not knowing where to start is not helping out either! But ounce everything is set you will have hosted an elegant & enjoyed baby shower.
Anyone can plan a baby shower for the mother, it can be a family member or friend or even colleagues. The strangest or maybe not the strangest person, but rather "cutest " person who can plan a baby shower for the mother is the father to be. Yes there have been situations where the father to be, calls and says " hello, I'm having a surprise baby shower for my wife, are you game?".
Its not because there was no close friends to do it or the father had nothing to do, but when the mother finds out it will be the biggest present ever.

Not that there is anything wrong with the mother knowing that on the "18 of December" she is suppose to be at a friends house or her house, because its her baby shower. When the mother knows it kinds of makes things easier. Because you the host don't have to make sure that she is there on time, or worry about her finding out. And her knowing is also good because she can even draft the baby shower list.
But as I have said, if I were to plan or receive a baby shower, it should be a surprise.
Now the tricky question is how do you keep it a secret from her?
It can be difficult if the baby shower is going to be at her house also. Decorating for a baby shower in her house can also be something else. But the tip here is for the host to work along with the people who live in the same house as the mother, maybe the father. They can help with the sneaking and hiding.
Where will the baby shower be?
The easiest for everyone can be the mother's place. I presume every guest should know where that is! This is to avoid people not keeping time, getting lost. And can even save on the stress of giving people directions, to some outside of town place.
But it is not a must for a baby shower to be held at the mother to be's place, you also have an option of renting out a place or a special place where you know that the mother likes to hang out. Who will attend the baby shower?
It has been said before, that traditionally the women attend the baby shower. Not because the man are not welcomed, but there is some connection between the mothers and the babies. And besides women will like to share some things with the mother to be especially if its the first time, and man will not want to find out!

The baby shower guest list has to be sort out accordingly. As the host get somebody like the husband or mother of the mother to be, to give you a list of people that she will love to invite.

Baby showers are celebrated like a party or wedding, so food & drinks should be there. As the baby shower host you should not bare the burden of planning baby shower alone. I'm sure the are friends and family member who would want to share the responsibility.
The easiest way you can manage the baby shower recipes and food supply, is by getting every guest involved. As women get every one to come with something.
You have to be polite and sensitive about this.... When you do have a list already drafted of the baby shower recipes and food supply call them or send an e-mail. Ask them from the list you have what can they bring to the baby shower? or simply tell them what to bring.

I have come across at least a hundred of baby shower games on the internet. So if you would visit the world wide web, I'm sure there are 2 or 3 baby shower games you can play. Remember to choose the games according to the guest list. Look at the guests list and maybe you might know some of the people there, and that might give you an idea of what type of people are invited. Old or young, free or preserved? Then you will know what type of games you can play.
Its not a must that baby showers must have games, as women there can be talks and maybe baby stories to share... and husband stories wont be missing from here "I can tell"
Chair for baby shower
A chair is not a must on the day of the baby shower, but the mother or the guest should buy it. It is a very special thing, cause as the mother is busy opening the baby gifts she can be so long sitting on it. Maybe the daddy should buy it!!
